A contest for young musicians in grades 9-12

Share the Stage Program

A competition for high school string players in South Carolina, Share the Stage (TM) allows talented students to have the unique opportunity to perform onstage with their professional counterparts.
 
The 4th annual Share the Stage (TM) competition and performance will take place during the CSO Masterworks concerts on March 19-20-21, 2015. Share the Stage student participants will be featured on The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Paul Dukas under the baton of Edward Polochick.
 
Applicant materials must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5th, 2015. Your application includes the online application and a video audition with the required excerpts from The Sorcerer's Apprentice by Paul Dukas. Required excerpts are listed on the excerpt sheet below. Video auditions must be submitted via YouTube URL on the online application- one video for all excerpts.
 
If you are selected to participate in Share the Stage, attendance is required at all of the following:
 
Rehearsals:
Saturday, March 7th, 2:00 - 4:30 p.m. (string sectionals)
Tuesday, March 17th, 7:00 p.m. (full orchestra)
Wednesday, March 18th, 7:00 p.m. (full orchestra)
 
Concerts:
Thursday, March 19th, 7:30 p.m.
Friday, March 20th, 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, March 21st, 7:30 p.m.

To enter the competition, you must play violin, viola, cello, or bass, be in 9th-12th grade, and live in South Carolina.
